This is my story

From an early age, my connection to the outdoors has been a driving force in my life. Growing up in Texas, I spent endless hours fishing along the coast and through the Piney Woods, forming a deep appreciation for nature's beauty and its wildlife. My family also instilled in me a love for hunting, where we pursued everything from whitetail deer to gray squirrels, often creating lasting memories in the process.

One of the defining moments in my outdoor journey happened during an annual family fishing trip in the early 2000s. We were driving across the dam above the Little Missouri River, which flows in and out of Lake Greeson in Southwest Arkansas, when I saw anglers in waders, skillfully casting their lines and catching sleek silver fish with bright lines across them. The elegance with which they slowly cast their lines, the rhythm and fluidity of the movement, was mesmerizing, and I was astonished. Curious, I asked my grandfather, who was driving the truck, and he explained that they were fly fishing. While I already knew that my life would revolve around the outdoors, I knew then that I just had to learn more about those trout and become familiar with the art of fly fishing.

I enlisted in the Army at the end of high school and was lucky to be stationed in Washington, a state full of outdoor recreation and opportunity. It was there, surrounded by incredible landscapes, that I slowly began learning more about fly fishing and the West. My passion for the outdoors only deepened as I explored the region’s rivers, forests, and mountains. Now, living in Colorado, I’m pursuing a degree in Wildlife Biology, focusing on fly fishing, public land hunting, and continuing my journey in the natural world. This site is my way of sharing those adventures, the gear I use, and the experiences that continue to fuel my passion for conservation and the wilderness.

The summer of 2024, I accomplished my goal! These Rainbows are stocked fish so while it doesn’t take much to land them, these are some of the most special fish I’ll ever catch.

Nonetheless. a #20 Parachute Adams did the trick!
